Created as a custom outdoor commission, these illuminated totems draw inspiration from medieval Vepshi structures — vernacular forms shaped by ritual, landscape, and time. Their silhouettes evoke weathered markers or ceremonial objects, reinterpreted through a contemporary industrial lens.
Each piece was fabricated from mitered and soldered copper plate paired with powder-coated steel, combining durable construction with richly aging materials. Exposed to the elements, the copper develops a constantly shifting patina, allowing the surfaces to evolve season by season. By night, the totems emit a soft ambient glow that transforms outdoor spaces with warmth, atmosphere, and a quiet sense of permanence.
